✨ No LASIK? No Problem — EVO ICL
👁 Removable & Adjustable Lens
EVO ICL Vision Correction
in Fayetteville, NC
Not a LASIK candidate? EVO Implantable Collamer® Lens (ICL) delivers outstanding, glasses-free vision — even for patients with thin corneas, high prescriptions, or chronic dry eye. No laser. No corneal tissue removed. Completely reversible.
What Is EVO ICL?
EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer® Lens) is an FDA-approved vision correction procedure where a small, biocompatible lens is permanently implanted just behind the iris — in front of your natural lens. Unlike LASIK, EVO ICL does not remove or alter any corneal tissue. The lens works with your eye to correct your vision, and it can be removed or exchanged at any time.
The Collamer® material is uniquely biocompatible — naturally compatible with human tissue — and contains a built-in UV filter to protect your eyes from harmful ultraviolet light.
Who Is EVO ICL For?

The EVO ICL Procedure: What to Expect
Before Surgery
Your free consultation includes a comprehensive evaluation: corneal mapping, prescription measurement, anterior chamber depth assessment (to confirm the ICL fits properly), and a full eye health exam. A small laser iridotomy is typically performed 1–2 weeks before surgery to prepare for proper fluid flow after the lens is implanted.
The Day of Surgery
EVO ICL surgery takes approximately 20–30 minutes per eye and is performed under topical anesthesia (numbing drops). Your surgeon makes a tiny self-sealing incision, carefully folds the flexible lens, inserts it through the incision, and positions it precisely behind the iris. No stitches are required.
Recovery
Most patients notice dramatically improved vision within 24 hours. The full clarity of EVO ICL is immediate — many patients describe their new vision as sharper than anything they’ve experienced with glasses or contacts. You will use prescription anti-inflammatory drops for a few weeks as the eye heals, and should avoid strenuous activity for the first 1–2 weeks.
The EVO ICL Difference: Reversible & Future-Proof
Unlike any laser procedure, EVO ICL is completely reversible. If your prescription changes significantly, the lens can be exchanged for an updated one. When the time comes for cataract surgery later in life, the ICL is simply removed and replaced with an intraocular lens (IOL) — just like a standard cataract procedure.
This makes EVO ICL particularly valuable for younger patients in their 20s and 30s who want excellent vision now without permanently closing off any future options.

Frequently Asked Questions About EVO ICL
Is EVO ICL permanent?
EVO ICL is designed to be a long-term vision correction solution, but it is fully reversible and exchangeable — unlike LASIK, which permanently removes corneal tissue. The lens can be removed or swapped for a different power if your prescription changes. When cataract surgery becomes appropriate later in life, the ICL is simply removed as part of that procedure.
Can you feel EVO ICL in your eye?
No. The EVO ICL is made of Collamer®, a biocompatible material that is naturally accepted by the eye. Once placed, the lens is not felt at all — patients are completely unaware of its presence. Unlike contact lenses, there is no sensation of anything in the eye.
What prescriptions can EVO ICL treat?
EVO ICL is FDA-approved for myopia (nearsightedness) from –3.00 to –20.00 diopters, with or without astigmatism up to –4.00 diopters (with the toric EVO ICL). It is particularly valuable for patients with high prescriptions that are outside the safe range for LASIK.
