Dr. Wendell Danforth

Wendell Danforth, M.D. 

 

Dr. Wendell C. Danforth is Fayetteville’s first and only full-time retinal specialist who lives and works right here in the city. He specializes in the treatment and management of retina-related eye conditions such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Danforth also performs local retinal surgery. 

Dr. Danforth graduated summa cum laude from Drake University in 1986. He attended medical school at Cornell University, where he graduated with honors in the top 5% of his class. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of Iowa, and he performed his residency and fellowship in ophthalmology and retina care at Washington Hospital Center. 

Dr. Danforth served in the United States Air Force for four years, and he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. 

He has been board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1997, and he is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retinal Surgeons.
